Final Crit Feedback

We had our final crit today; I was in a bit of a panic because it appeared that all the work that I had done would not show up in after effects as I had re-organsed all my files so they were easier and clearer for me to access. This had a knock on effect that meant the images, illustrations and text that I had imported for the composition that I had been making were not linked. Eventually I managed to link them again and get a small amount of feedback.

STRENGTHS
  • Good colour scheme
  • Clear what the top 10 are
  • Clear target audience
AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT
  • There seems to be too much going on in the idents - select the right images / information to use for each ident - 10 seconds isnt' very long so don't try and cram too much in - at the moment it looks a bit chaotic.
  • The typeface isn't clear enough and the names of the festivals aren't on screen long enough for the viewer to read and remember them
  • Make sure that you leave enough time at the end for the title / channel / date of the program
  • Some of the movement of the photos / speakers doesn't fit right onto the beat of the song so throws the whole composition off
CONSIDERATIONS
  • Chose a couple of images per indent
  • Dont worry about having to fit all the names of the top 10 festivals onto one indent - leave that for the main title sequence - you only need to mention two
  • have a look to see if you can find a clearer typeface as parts of the words from some of the festival names are illegible.
  • Fade and in and out of the audio at the start and end of the ident / title sequence especially if you start in a main section of an upbeat song.
