Book Manipulation

we were given the task of manipulating an old magazine to represent a world. Mine was unsuccessful and I don't really think I truly grasped what I was trying to make and my ideas was more ambitions that practical, I thought that i would be able to make the pages stick up vertical so you would have a square/frame that you would be able to look through but as you can see it just lay flat!
