'Funshop' - 'Lovin Leeds'

The main idea of this seminar was to get us to THINK BIG, to design an event which had no limit to the cost of it, no restriction and it was to take place in Leeds. With normal briefs we have to work to wards the criteria and to a certain price limit etc, but John was trying to get us to think of a big idea and then think even bigger e.g. projecting a film so that the whole of leeds can see it, then to think bigger - to project it onto the night sky and have speakers all around the city.

It was a group project but within our groups we paired off and researched different types of entertainment/festival-like activities which would attract the people of leeds and what sort of event it could become

Below is some of the research/brainstorming which I did

These are some of the worksheets we did as a group - combing all the ideas and looking for a way to present it e.g. logo, themes, location, timings and set up.

Our plan was toe host a BIG SLEEPOVER for the whole of Leeds. This would be a completely free event and have the main theme/feeling of a festival but at night time.
There would be different activities for different ages but the main theme of it all would be to bring a sleeping bag and join together to sleep over.
There would be events going on around the whole of leeds from Millennium Square to Hyde Park and beyond and there would be busses shuttling groups of people over the place. There would be a set agenda e.g. bands playing, movies playing, activities, theme park etc.
